The system comprises a multi-joint robot, a feeding system, an pipe cap front side and reverses side identification system, a cap turning system, a pipe holding fixture, a control system, and a safety protection system. The protective caps can be automatically plugged at the two ends of the steel pipe so that the inner wall of the steel pipe is prevented from being rusted or foreign matters are prevented from entering during long-term storage or transportation. It can greatly improve production efficiency and reduce the number of workers by replacing workers with robots to complete the plugging of pipe end protective caps.
